How is the B-130A different from its predecessor, the B-130X?
On paper, the B-130A is identical to the B-130X in most aspects, including capacity and features. However, in actual use, the B-130A shows slightly improved total time (up to 55 minutes more running time) and lower charging and operating temperatures across the board (up to 7℃ cooler).
The main practical difference comes down to the connection between the battery and the dash cam. The B-130X included a female cigarette lighter power output for users who wanted to connect the cigarette lighter power cable that comes with their dash cam. It also included a 3-wire output (Ground, Accessory, Battery) black, red and yellow cable adapter meant to be connected manually to the dash cam’s hardwiring power cable.
Now, the B-130A includes a new cable that goes from the Ultra Battery’s output port all the way to the dash cam’s DC in (power) port. This means an easier installation as well as the advantage of triggering Parking Mode instantly when the vehicle’s ignition is switched off.

At launch, the B-130A is compatible with all the BlackVue dash cams that support Native Parking Mode. In other words, all the models that have built-in voltage monitoring capabilities.

FAQs
1. How to wire the Ultra Battery?
The Ultra Battery can be either connected to a cigarette lighter-type power socket or hardwired to your vehicle’s fuse panel. When hardwired, the B-130X is able to draw up to 9A of power, versus 5A when plugged in using the cigarette lighter power adapter. Therefore, hardwiring is recommended to enable the fastest charging time. Note: unlike its predecessors (B-124 and B-124X), which have a Cigarette | OFF | Hardwire switch which must be matched to, B-130X has anON/OFFswitch and automatically adapts its power draw (charging current) to the wiring method.
2. Is this battery different from a regular power bank?
Yes indeed! The Ultra Battery is powered by Lithium Iron Phosphate cells (LiFePO4). Power banks designed as backup batteries for phones and portable electronic devices are usually of the Lithium-ion (Li-ion) or Lithium-polymer (LiPo) type. Those high-density batteries are not suitable for use in a closed parked vehicle (where temperature can reach high–and low–levels) as they risk causing fire or explosion. LiFePO4 batteries can sustain more extreme temperatures, and more charge cycles and are also more environment-friendly.
3. I have this 10,000 mAh power bank that is much smaller than this 7,500 mAh battery. What gives?
mAh can be misleading if we don’t consider voltage. Tip: think in terms of Watt-hours (Wh). Of course, the type of battery should be taken into consideration: high-power density batteries have a higher capacity for a given volume. In other words, at the same capacity, a LiFePO4 battery is bigger than a Li-ion or LiPo battery. However, consumer electronics and car accessories generally assume different voltage values. The milliamp rating of power banks is usually based on a voltage of 3.7V. This means for a 10,000 mAh battery, the total capacity is 10,000mAh x 3.7V / 1,000 = 37Wh. By way of comparison, the Power Magic Ultra Battery has a capacity of 7,500mAh at 12.8V, which translates to 96Wh.
4. Can I use Power Magic Ultra Battery in a commercial truck (24V)?
Yes. B-130X is compatible with 12V and 24V systems.
5. Can I bring the Power Magic Ultra Battery on a plane?
Yes, in carry-on luggage, in theory. But since batteries can be sensitive items to bring on an airplane, check with your local operator to be on the safe side. According to the IATA (International Air Transport Association) spare batteries under 100Wh can be carried on a plane in carry-on luggage–NOT in checked luggage–like most lithium batteries, without requiring the operator’s approval.

When the Ultra Battery and 1 Expansion Battery are fully charged they can supply power for approximately 53 hours 45 mins in total (based on a single dashcam that consumes 3 W). Charging time is approximately 2 hour 30 mins (Cigarette lighter plug) / 1 hour 20 mins
(Hardwired).
When you add 1 or more expansion batteries please adjust the total available battery capacity using the BlackVue Battery manager app.
Multiple expansion batteries can be connected together in sequence to extend usage time even further. Please note charging time will also increase accordingly.
