Connecting your smartphone directly to your SAFY8 or SAFY9 dashcam lets you adjust settings, review archives, and download recordings over Wi-Fi without removing the microSD card.
Step-by-Step Connection Procedure
Power On the Device: Start your vehicle's engine to power on the dashcam. Ensure the dashcam's system and Wi-Fi hotspot activate automatically.
Launch the SAFY App: Open the application on your smartphone. The app will open directly to your Home device landing page.
Add a New Camera: Tap the orange "+" (Add) button in the top-right corner of the Home screen. Allow the app to enable local network access.
Choose Model: Tap your registered dashcam model; select either SAFY9 or SAFY8.
Check Permissions and Access Info. The user should grant the app permissions and access. Verify that all the requirements below are satisfied. Then, tap the Next button.
1. Initial setup requires your phone to have a functional SIM card (iOS).
2. Turn on the cellular data.
3. Allow APP to use the local network.
4. Please select Settings → Safy Direct to turn on Wi-Fi on your phone, and allow Safy Direct access to WLAN and cellular data.
5. Please turn off the VPN.
Review Default Connection Info: The app opens the Go Connect screen listing your camera's SSID name (which incorporates the last four digits of its MAC address) and the default password: 12345678. Tap the orange Go Connect button at the bottom.
Navigate Connection Help: The app opens a Connection Help dialog box. Tap OK to automatically redirect to your phone's system Wi-Fi settings.
Authenticate & Connect: Select the camera's network from your phone's Wi-Fi list, enter 12345678, and establish a connection.
Authorize Connection. Navigate back to the SAFY App. While on the screen below, the camera should display the message "Please click the confirm button to complete the authorization operation." on the LCD screen. Click the physical button that corresponds to the check mark to confirm.
Align the Camera View: Confirm the pop-up that appears. Then, adjust the positions of the front and rear cameras according to the guiding lines on the live view screen. Press OK on the screen after the adjustment.
