Accessing, saving, and organising your BlackVue dashcam recordings is easy through the BlackVue app or Cloud services. Follow this step-by-step guide to find, playback, download, and manage your video files with maximum convenience and control.
Note: Screenshots in this guide are based on the BlackVue app and may vary slightly depending on your camera model or app.
Playing back recordings
1. SD card recordings via BlackVue app (Wi-Fi or Cloud cameras)
NOTE: The recordings mentioned in this section are files stored on the camera's SD card. Downloading such files will require the camera to be powered on.
- Open the BlackVue/Fleeta app and log in to your account.
In the "Cameras" tab, you will see your camera list. Choose which camera recordings you want to play.
- For Cloud cameras (Remote Playback): Make sure that the camera is connected to the Cloud. This is indicated by the blue cloud icon on the left side of the camera's name.
- Tap "Remote Playback" and choose the video you want to play from the list. The front camera recording will be displayed by default.
- To change the camera view, tap on the "Rear" or "Interior" icon at the top of the video recording screen.
- For Wi-Fi cameras (Playback via Wi-Fi): The WiFi icon on the left side of the camera's name indicates that this camera is not registered to the Cloud, and so the Cloud features are limited. A Wi-Fi camera's recording and settings at a close range of 10 meters from the camera.
- Tap "Playback/Live View" and the app will ask if you want to join the camera's SSID.
- Choose the video you want to play from the list, as well as the video playback quality. The front camera recording will be displayed by default.
- To change the camera view, tap on the "Rear" or "Interior" icon at the top of the video recording screen.
- For Cloud cameras (Remote Playback): Make sure that the camera is connected to the Cloud. This is indicated by the blue cloud icon on the left side of the camera's name.
2. Live Event Upload Recordings via BlackVue app (Cloud cameras) - Cloud Storage Playback
NOTE: The recordings mentioned in this section are event and manual recording files automatically saved in the Cloud storage of a Cloud-activated camera. These files can be played even though the camera is turned off, as long as the mobile device is connected to the internet. Also, depending on your Cloud plan, the files in this storage will be automatically deleted after several days. This option falls under Cloud Storage Playback.
- Open the BlackVue/Fleeta app and log in to your account.
- In the "Cloud Storage" tab, you will see your recordings list. The Live Event Upload tab is the default view. Choose which camera recordings you want to play by selecting the camera first (top portion of the screen), and the recordings for that camera will be displayed.
- Tap the recording you wish to view, and the playback screen will be displayed. You can change the camera view by selecting the "Rear" or "Interior" icon at the top of the video recording screen.
3. My Drive Recordings via BlackVue app
NOTE: The recordings mentioned in this section are manually saved recordings (all types) from the SD card and Live Event Upload Cloud storage. These files can be played even though the camera is turned off, as long as the mobile device is connected to the internet. This option falls under Cloud Storage Playback.
- Open the BlackVue/Fleeta app and log in to your account.
- In the "Cloud Storage" tab, you will see your recordings list. The Live Event Upload tab is the default view.
- Click the My Drive tab.
- Choose which camera recordings you want to play by selecting the camera first (top portion of the screen), and the recordings for that camera will be displayed.
- Tap the recording you wish to view, and the playback screen will be displayed. You can change the camera view by selecting the "Rear" or "Interior" icon at the top of the video recording screen.
NOTE: If the file saved in My Drive is from the Live Event Upload storage, it will play in low resolution. If the file is from the camera's SD card, the user will be given the video quality and video direction options before the recording will be played.
Downloading recordings
1. Download from dashcam SD card via the app
Note: Recordings saved in the dashcam's SD card can be downloaded both for WiFi and Cloud cameras. The difference is the range of access - for WiFi cameras is short-range connection and download; for Cloud cameras is remote access and download.
- After connecting to the camera and the list of recordings are displayed, choose which particular video you want to download by clicking on the three dots stacked vertically to reveal the submenu.
Tap "Download to my device" to save the video to your device. (Note: Downloading videos to your device will use your internet data.)
- Choose the video quality and video direction. (Note: Low resolution file download option for video quality is only available for Cloud cameras)
- You can check the downloaded videos in Account > Downloaded videos
2. Download from Cloud Storage
Live Event Upload
Note: The recordings mentioned in this section are manually saved recordings (all types) from the SD card and Live Event Upload Cloud storage. These files can be downloaded even though the camera is turned off, as long as the mobile device is connected to the internet. Also, depending on your Cloud plan, the files in this storage will be automatically deleted after a number of days.
- In the "Cloud Storage" tab, you will see your recordings list. The Live Event Upload tab is the default view.
- Choose which camera recordings you want to play by choosing the camera first (top portion of screen) and the recordings for that camera will be displayed.
- Choose which particular video you want to download by clicking on the three dots stacked vertically to reveal the submenu.
- Tap "Download to Device" to save the video to your device. The videos can be seen in Account > Downloaded Videos. (Note: Downloading videos to your device will use your internet data.)
- Another option is the "Move to My Drive" as a backup storage for important recordings. (Note: Moving recordings to My Drive will use your internet data.)
My Drive

- Choose which camera recordings you want to play by choosing the camera first (top portion of screen) and the recordings for that camera will be displayed.
- Choose which particular video you want to download by clicking on the three dots stacked vertically to reveal the submenu.
- Tap "Download to Device" to save the video to your device. The videos can be seen in Account > Downloaded Videos. (Note: Downloading videos to your device will use your internet data.)
3. Managing recordings via Windows or Mac
- Remove the SD card and insert it into your computer.
- Download and use BlackVue Viewer (Windows/Mac) to play, download, and delete video files.
- Click SD Card Viewer option.
When the SD card is recognized by the computer, the list of recordings will be displayed on the left panel of the program. You can double click the file you want to play from the list.
Downloading Files
Click the three dots in vertical position to reveal the sub menu. Select Download to save recording files in your computer.
Select individual files to download or click the tick box at top most part to select all recordings. Press Download and choose the directory where to save the files.
Alternatively, you can move your mouse pointer to a file and press right click to reveal the submenu. Select Download to save that recording file in your computer.
Choose the directory (folder) where to save the file. Then click Select folder to download the file.
Deleting recordings
In the app (Cameras Tab)
- After connecting to the camera in close range (Wi-Fi camera) or remotely (Cloud camera), click on the three dots stacked vertically to reveal the submenu.
- Tap "Delete Video". Confirm deletion by choosing "Delete".
In the app (Cloud Storage Tab)
- Go to the "Cloud Storage" tab.
- Select the Cloud storage (Live Event Upload or My Drive).
- Click on the three dots stacked vertically on the right side of the video file to reveal the submenu.
- Tap "Delete". Confirm deletion by choosing "Delete".

Multiple Deletion of Files
- Tap the check (√) icon and select the recordings you wish to delete.
- Tap the "Delete" text located at the right, top corner of the screen. Complete the process by choosing "Delete" option.
In the app (Account Tab)
- In the Account tab, you can check the downloaded videos in to your mobile device by tapping the "Downloaded videos". However, you cannot delete the videos from this screen. You can go to your mobile device's gallery and locate the videos you wish to delete based on the recording date.
On a computer (PC Viewer)
- Recording files can be deleted (a) one at a time or (b) multiple/all files at one time.
- Alternatively, you can move your mouse pointer to a file and press right click to reveal the submenu. Select Delete to delete that recording file from the SD card.
Tips for effective video management
- Regularly backup important footage: Download and store any events you might later need, as older videos will be overwritten in loop-recording mode.
- Check SD card health: Format your SD card every 1–2 months for maximum reliability.
- Monitor Cloud storage quota: Check available space in your app’s Cloud section, and delete unnecessary videos if nearing your limit.
- Event/Impact files: Event recordings caused by sudden impacts or motion are typically saved separately for easier access; filter these under “Event.”
- Batch actions: In the app, you can delete multiple files at once to save time.
Troubleshooting
