Camera does not connect to camera's WiFi
|
Wrong password | For DR650GW and DR650S, the default password is blackvue (all small caps). For DR590 Series (W and X), DR750 Series (S, X, X Plus and LTE), DR900 Series (S, X and X Plus), DR770 Series (X, LTE, and X BOX), and DR970 Series (X, X Plus, LTE and X BOX Plus), the camera's WiFi unique password is printed on the attached sticker on the front camera. If you forgot your personal password, you can set or change it by referring here. Take note that users who signed up to BlackVue via the Continue with Google/Apple options cannot reset their password via the Forgot password? option as this works only for those who signed up via Continue with email option. If you signed up via the Continue with Google/Apple options, please check the password of your main Google or Apple account. |
The password contains special characters | Avoid using special characters (! , ? > < _) as much as possible when changing the camera's WiFi password. Check the password once again to see if there are any special characters. | |
The phone switches automatically to the stronger WiFi signal |
For DR900S and older models, the Direct WiFi connection to the camera does not provide internet data to the mobile device or phone (No internet data). If you activated the settings that allows your phone to search for a stronger WiFi signal, the phone disconnect from the camera because of a weak or no WiFi signal. First, connect to Direct WiFi within the ten-meter range. If you are using an Android phone, turn off "Smart Network Switch" or "Switch to Mobile Data" on your phone. If you are using an iPhone, turn off "Wifi Assist". WiFi Assist or Smart Network Switch may appear as a different setting on the latest phones. For example, Adaptive Connectivity is used in Google Pixel phones. |

WiFi does not appear in the phone's network list (DR970X/X Plus/X LTE/X LTE Plus/ X BOX Plus) (DR900S/X/X Plus) |
The DR900 and DR970 series support dual WiFi bandwidth - 2.4GHz and 5GHz. There are some Android phones that do not support dual-band. So, the camera's WiFi SSID does not appear in the list. For DR900 series, the WiFi band of the camera should be set to 2.4GHz. To do this, go to Firmware Settings > WiFi > WiFi Band > 2.4GHz and save changes. For DR970 series, Camera Settings > Camera Connectivity > Wi-Fi band and save changes. |
